EVENTS IN CLOVELLY

Friday 2nd to Friday 9th April 2010 -  Clovelly Fantastic Fudge Hunt - Fudge stones are hidden around the village. Track one down and collect your prize of mouthwatering creamy fudge.

Saturday 29th to Monday 31st May 2010 - Celebration of Local Ales & Cider - (Bank Holiday Weekend) Come along and enjoy a range of locally made beers and ciders in Clovelly village.

Sunday 30th May 2010- Cream teas - in All Saints Church, 2-30 to 5-00pm.

Saturday June 5th 2010- Race night - at Clovelly Parish Hall 8pm till late.

Sunday 6th June 2010- Spring Luncheon - for All Saints Church, 1pm in Clovelly Parish Hall. Tickets from Chris West 01237 431668.

Saturday 3rd July 2010- Garden Party - For Royal British Legion. 1-4pm (Higher Clovelly)

Sunday 11th July 2010- Sea Sunday Service - 12pm on the quay. Annual service for the RNLI and seafarers.

Sunday 18th July 2010 - Maritime Festival - Held in aid of The North Devon Hospice. A day of traditional seaside entertainment. Shanty singers, fire-eating, Punch and Judy and lots more. Delicious seafood and succulent hog roast on the beach.

Thursday 22nd July 2010- Sausage Sizzle - 5.30pm to 8pm at Clovelly Parish Hall for All Saints Church.

Saturday 24th July 2010 - Lundy Gig Row West Country pilot gigs row from Clovelly to Lundy and back. Come along and support the brave crews!

Sunday 25th July 2010 - One Day in Summer - The Annual Parish Hall Garden Show and Fete. Local gardeners compete for best in show alongside craft competitions. Games and side shows.

Monday 26th July 2010 - Woolsery Agricultural Show - Many classes for cattle, horses, sheep and pony competitions. Bustling trade and exhibition stands and stalls offering locally made crafts and foods.

Saturday 31st July 2010 - Lifeboat Weekend  - Held in aid of RNLI - a popular celebration of our lifeboat and her crew. Sponsored swim to Bucks Mills, race of men dressed as women, tug-of-war, slave auction and food stalls galore.

Saturday 7th August 2010 - Gig Regatta - Upholding the tradition of racing pilot gigs out in the bay.

Sunday 5th September 2010 - Lobster and Crab Feast  - Join the fun party atmosphere with live folk music and theatre. Craft and food stalls with the Quay kitchen cookery demonstrations.

Sunday 21st November 2010 - Herring Festival  - A celebration of 'The Silver Darlings'. Mike Smylie with his Kipperland Exhibition. Herring dishes, local cider and wine, shanty singing and lots more.

Sunday 5th December 2010 - Christmas Lights - In support of the RNLI. Accompany the brass band procession down the street for carols and witness the lights switch on and firework display.

EVENTS IN NORTH DEVON

Thursday 20th to Saturday 22nd May 2010 - Devon County Show - Animals, Food, Flowers and Fun!

Saturday 29th to Monday 31st May 2010 - Westward Ho! Potwalloping Festival - Local tradition of preserving the pebble ridge. Voted one of The Daily Telegraphs Top 100 Music Festivals.

Tuesday 8th June 2010 -  Open Gardens at Docton Mill for the Royal National Lifeboat Intitution [RNLI] -  10am to 6pm. Refreshments, Souvenirs and Plant Stalls.

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th June 2010 - Woolsery Open Gardens - Opportunity to visit private gardens around the village. Cream Teas available.

Wednesday 4th August 2010 - North Devon Show - Traditional Agricultural Show - Animals, Crafts etc. 8am to 6pm

Saturday 25th September to Sunday 3rd October 2010 - Appledore Book Festival - Workshops and talks by various authors. All profits to charity.
